The music of India is coming to the Sunshine Coast! A feature event is to be held on Sunday 19th March, in the Coast hinterland, at Cooran Hall Cooran.
Raasa is the musical partnership of Peter Davidian and David Fernandez. The duo performs classical Indian music for Sitar and Tabla, having played together for over 16 years. The traditional music from the Eastern deserts of Rajasthan to the Himalayan ranges weaves through the unique sound which Raasa bring to their performance. For many, it can transport them as it captures the mood of the people who live there.
Peter is one of Australia’s premier Sitarists, having played the Sitar for over 20 years. Originally from Armenia he studied under the Rajasthan School of Music in Jaipur, Gharana. He has performed at numerous festivals and concerts. David is from Tamil Nadu, South India, and has studied under the Calcutta Gharana; and has established himself successfully as a Tabla player in Southern Queensland and NSW.
