Creative Arts Festival calls for talent
Sunshine Coast artists, performers and film makers will have the chance to show off their talents at the Inspired Souls Festival -- A Celebration of the Arts, to be held at Lake Kawana Community Centre on January 17, 2009.
Visual artists, musicians, short film makers, dance and theatre groups as well as other performers are now invited to lodge expressions of interest to take part in the upcoming event no later than December 11.
Lake Kawana Community Centre, in conjunction with Synchronised Creations, is hosting the festival to celebrate the creative arts industry on the coast and to encourage and support community events.
Lake Kawana Community Centre Venue Officer Cameron Russell said the Sunshine Coast Council is pleased to be able to offer residents an event of their own during the peak tourist season.
"It is an excellent opportunity for local artists and businesses to get behind the community and celebrate the fantastic talent that the Coast has to offer," Mr Russell said.
The festival will not only highlight the many talented and creative people living locally, but will attract new artists to the Sunshine Coast.
A talent show will also be part of the event and locals with hidden talents are urged to register their details.
The festival is a free family event from 10am--10pm filled with music and arts performances, workshops, exhibitions, market and food stalls, kids' activities and closing with a short film festival.
To express interest in being involved in the festival please visit the events page at www.synchronisedcreations.com.au or for further information for volunteers, market stall holders or business sponsors please email the Event Director, Carly Church on email@example.com
