Film buffs and doco lovers get your popcorn ready – Horizon Festival has an epic line-up of documentaries exploring individual and community identity; celebrating and giving a platform to courageous change makers and activists.

Horizon Hot Docs Curator Murray Power said the documentary program was designed to share stories that are cutting edge and inspirational.

“In 2019, we have created a festival program aimed at celebrating community identity and bringing light to individual and collective stories and ideas,” Mr Power said.

Horizon Hot Docs is presented in partnership with Majestic Cinemas, Nambour.

Five cultures, five women, one story. #FEMALE PLEASURE portrays five courageous, smart and self-determined women, breaking the silence imposed by their archaic-patriarch societies and religious communities. Join us after the film for Women to the Front, a panel discussion about the film with local women who have risen. The panel discussion will be held at the Bison Bar at 8.45pm

Through the riveting stories of five rural communities, Right to Harm exposes the devastating public health impact factory farming has on many disadvantaged citizens throughout the United States.
