The Island Charity swim is preparing to take the plunge for the 12th successful year in a row on Saturday 25 August.
For the past eleven years the swim has been fundraising for the region’s two special schools at Currimundi and Nambour.
The annual Island Charity Swim is an 11km open water swim starting at Mudjimba Beach, around Old Women Island, and back to shore at Mooloolaba Beach.
The swim is open to anyone willing to participate and raise funds for the special schools.
Individuals and teams are invited to register before the big day on Saturday 25 August, leaving Mudjimba Beach in the early hours of the morning with swimmers beginning to arrive at Mooloolaba Beach mid-morning to a huge community welcome.
