JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH - BY ROALD DAHL
24th March at 4.30pm at The J, Noosa Junction.
Are you feeling peachy?
The Drama Queens are about to open a doorway into the weird and wonderful world of Roald Dahl right here in Noosa. Theatre j will host the intrepid James, two grotesque aunts, a band of oversized insects and, of course, an enormous peach for 4 performances of James and the Giant Peach at the end of June.
The story begins with James Henry Trotter, whose life with the exceedingly nasty Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker is pure misery. James dreams of a better life, but he's totally unprepared for the wild adventures ahead of him when he drops the magic crystals he receives from a strange old man.
Before long, James is off on a weird, wonderful journey inside a giant peach with an odd assortment of travelling companions: the old green grasshopper, a larrikin of a centipede, a wonderfully proper ladybird, a desperately short sighted (and understandably timid) earthworm, a rather sexy spider and a glow worm with lofty ambitions.
If you want to get in touch with your inner bug or any of the other characters mentioned above tickle your fancy do audition for this fantastic children's show. All roles will be played by adult performers and the rehearsal schedule will be leisurely and, most of all, fun.
Auditions will be held at The J on Saturday 24 March at 4.30pm. To book a time or to find out a little more call Mary-Ann Vale on 0418608194 or Kathryn McTaggart on 0404405279.
