King of the Ice Cream Mountain
By J Mundis and E Leonard

"An enchanting romp with hints of Harry Potter.…"

Hiss the villain and cheer the hero! King of the Ice Cream Mountain by J Mundis and E Leonard, is a pantomime style one-act play that is an enchanting romp with hints of Harry Potter.

When King Bumpygruff of the far-off Kingdom of Frozenbrrr cannot find anyone, not physican nor soccerer, to cure his sore feet, he offers half his kingdom and a knighthood to the one person who can relieve him of his misery. Enter Zeno the evil sorcerer who covets the ice cream mines that are the only industry in Frozenbrrr. But all Zeno's magic and spells fail in the quest to solve the riddle of the King's sore feet. It is Muffles the penguin to the rescue! Which, of course, infuriates the sorcerer, who vows revenge.

It's an thrilling combat pitting the wicked Zeno against the innocence of our hero Muffles and the King's daughter, Princess Happy.

Children of all ages will revel in the fun and excitement!

Director Mary-Ann Vale is delighted to bring such great holiday entertainment to Noosa, especially with the cast of Peter Michael as King Bumpygruff, Kayte New as Princess Happy, Leona Kirby as Muffles and Stephen Moore As Zeno the Evil Sorcerer. An experienced director and a cast of well-known performers combine to bring a fantasy-inspired script to life.

King of the Ice Cream Mountain will be performed at The Noosa Arts Theatre, Weyba Rd, Noosaville on January 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21 at 11am. Tickets cost $12 for everyone - adults at kids' prices, available from NDS Actors, 16 Jarrah St, Cooroy, 5442 5362, Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm, or on-line at www.theatre-s.com.au from December 5. King Bumpygruff is playing hard to get! And no, this doesn't mean that the two theatre s plays in January (The Love List and King of the Ice Cream Mountain) have somehow merged. It means that the King has morphed from Peter Michael to Alan Lane to Frank Wilkie! No mean feat, but then this is a pantomime-style show full of secrets and Sorcerers. Where penguins are turned into dragons and back again with spells and magic words (and help from the audience). Of course, there's also Princess Happy and Muffles to save the day and all the ice cream mines in the Kingdom of Frozenbrrrr.

Directed by Mary-Ann Vale this great holiday entertainment now stars Frank Wilkie as King Bumpygruff, Kayte New as Princess Happy, Leona Kirby as Muffles, and Stephen Moore as Zeno the Evil Sorcerer.

So now the very talented Frank Wilkie will be performing in King of the Ice Cream Mountain each day at 11am and The Love List each night at 8pm. Why not see both?
