Weekend warriors dive into Caloundra
Weekend warriors can dive into Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast and take part in the challenge of a new event called Kings of the Coast - Caloundra Ocean Swim on Sunday, May 30.
This is the third leg of the Queensland Ocean Swim Series and participants will be fired up and ready for the big race finish. Although the long course is over a full 3.8km ironman distance, the event also offers a 2 person team option and 500m short course, perfect for less experienced ocean swimmers.
Swimmers leave at 8.30am from Moffat Beach and finish at Kings Beach, one of the few beaches protected from north-east winds. This is a course that will have the adrenalin pumping and the heart beating.
Competitive swimmers will mix with weekend warriors who have energy to burn and love to participate in something challenging and fun.
Event Director, John Guise, is excited about the opportunity to develop ocean swimming in Queensland.
"Ocean swimming is growing in popularity. It's a fantastic form of exercise for all ages and we're confident Queenslanders will be up to the challenge," said John.
Kings of the Coast - Caloundra Ocean Swim is open for both males and female participants.
Entry is only $45. Enter online at www.weekendwarriorevents.com.au. Breakfree Grand Pacific overlooking the waterfront Caloundra is the preferred supplier of accommodation for the event.
