Storytelling and craft for big and little kids.
Every Tuesday at 10am during school terms.

20 April - 23 June @ 10am: Wriggle giggle read
For 1 to 3 year olds. Fun interactive stories, finger plays and songs.
Sessions approx 20 minutes.

3 - 24 May @10am: Babies in arms. A four-week program designed for parents with babies under 12 months. Join us for 45 minutes of songs and rhymes, fun, friendship and learning.

4 May @ 9am - 12noon Domestic Violence Prevention Remembrance Day
Join us for a candle lighting ceremony as we remember those who have lost their lives as a result of domestic violence.  The event also aims to raise awareness of the ongoing issues surrounding domestic and family violence. Call the library on 5442 4411 for information on events.

5  May: Puzzled about Friday? From 3.15 to 4.30pm.
A club for kids aged 8 yrs and over, who enjoy being puzzled, are never bored or scrabbled for words! This month twisted word games and the pursuit of trivia!!! Call the library on 5442 4411 for information on events.

12 May: National Loud Shirt Day!
Don't be shocked if you come into the library today and see the staff wearing their loud shirts……Loud Shirt Day is a national fundraising event for deaf intervention programs aimed at teaching deaf and hearing impaired children spoken communication skills. By getting Loud on Loud Shirt Day, the library staff will be helping to raise money to give deaf children a voice.

Gold coin donation appreciated on the day.

14 - 21st May Heritage Week: Noosa Library in partnership with the University of Queensland are creating an exhibition "Mill Point Revisited" and an archaeological site for school students in the Noosa Library precinct. Archaeologists from University of Queensland will work with students and provide a working replica of a site for students to experience what it is like to be an archaeologist. The archaeologists will discuss the project they are involved with at Mill Point in the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park. Call the library on 5442 4411 for information on events.

21- 28 May to Archaeology Week: Continuing with the archaeological theme the Library will also have a display for Archaeology Week in partnership with the University of Queensland.

22 - 26 May Library and Information Week (LIW)
Each year libraries aim to raise awareness of the value of libraries and information services and information professionals in Australia. The week provides the opportunity to promote our professional services and skill to user communities and the public, to introduce new services, and to publicly canvas issues of importance to the provision of library and information services in Australia.  Call the library on 5442 4411 for information on events.

25 May - The Biggest Morning Tea
The Noosa Library is hosting the Biggest Morning Tea in conjunction with the Queensland Cancer Fund. The Library Foyer will be set up as a coffee shop and Library clients will be able to enjoy a morning of afternoon tea for a gold coin donation. The funds raised will go to the Queensland Cancer Fund.

25 May @ 10am "Cancer Self Defence" program
The Noosa Library will continue with the community speaker's "Cancer Self Defence" program on preventing breast cancer on the 25th of May 2006 at 10.00-11am in the Library meeting room. The presentation covers risk factors for breast cancer and reinforces early detection messages.

26 May 9.30 to 11.30: Students from Central QLD University studying their teaching degree will be presenting interactive play activities for children under 8 yrs old. Activities include outdoor games, on-line puzzles, storytelling and obstacle courses. Activities are free and bookings are not required.

31 May: Starts at 6.30pm

Foyer Display
>From Tuesday 18th April until Sunday 23rd April the foyer display in the Noosa Library will be showcasing Sunshine Beach Jewellery Artist Melissa Conn. Her individual pieces are created using a variety of materials such as semi precious stones, wood, shell and pearls. Each piece is a handcrafted, one off, unique and aesthetically pleasing work of art. Melissa's main focus is creating jewellery that makes the wearer shine from within and feel beautiful. Her jewellery represents a distinct coastal feel and captures the true nature of Noosa.
