Would you want to live with your mother-in-law?

Many people shudder at the prospect of a visit from the in-laws - even more so when they are staying for a week or two. But picture this - a husband and wife, his mother, her mother, and the teenage daughter, all living permanently under the one roof!

This is the premise for Lind Lane Theatre's next production, Life Goes On, by Australian playwright Peggy Caine.

Opening next Wednesday 20th September, Life Goes On is a poignant Australian play, set in Melbourne. A snapshot of life with all its joys and sorrows, it tells the story of an extended family's household, and how it is affected when a spanner is thrown into the works.

Most people will understand that this living arrangement is a recipe for tension, and have probably experienced similar scenarios at some time or another (think of all those joyous family Christmas get-togethers that inevitably lead to arguments, or other gatherings such as weddings, funerals and the like.) Many people, both young and old, will identify in some way with the characters and situations posed in Life Goes On.

Directed by Denise Campbell and Nell Davis (Love Begins at Fifty, Don't Dress For Dinner, Lipstick Dreams), the cast includes Gwen Griffin (The Talented Mr Ripley), Kate Cullen (The Opposite Sex, Forget Me Knot) and Steve Jeisman, playing his first major role. Mary Newton, well known for her work at BATS (both on stage and off), and student Elizabeth Nettleton complete the talented cast.

Sometimes funny and sometimes sad, audiences will love this slice of life in suburbia.
