Currimundi's biggest outdoor community event will be held again on the shores of Currimundi Lake on Sunday 9 December between 4 and 8pm.
Families and groups will soon be busily organizing the lighting and decorations for their boats to light up this popular Christmas festival. And there will be prizes to be won for the best decorated watercraft.
Thanks to major sponsors Sunshine Coast Council and Caloundra Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank, there'll be 4 hours of live entertainment, kids activities, market stalls, a drumming circle, and of course the parade of boats lit up with Christmas lights, paddling around Currimundi Lake at nightfall. Caloundra Bendigo Bank came on board as a major sponsor five years ago and everyone looks forward to seeing mascot Piggy captaining the inflatable rescue boat in the parade.
This festival is extremely popular with kids, particularly the huge variety of supervised children's activities, the drumming circle, and of course Santa who will be arriving by boat around 6pm.
The sight of the twinkling Christmas lights as the boats paddle around the lake at nightfall is just beautiful. And the finale to the night is a stunning laser light show from the main stage.
