Looking for a Sea Change?
How to deal with the latest phenomenon of the 21st Century

Regardless of whether you are a product of the sea change phenomenon or not, the latest offering from Caloundra City Libraries will be sure to tempt.

Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said the Looking for a Sea Change program, funded by a State Library of Queensland strategic development grant, looks at the impact on the individual and the community of the sea change phenomenon with a number of featured guests and special events.

"With an estimated 175,000 sea changers across the Coast, this new program will be particularly appealing, but is relevant to everyone, featuring some very interesting guest speakers and topics," Cr Aldous said.

Cr Aldous said the program explores the way local Councils and communities can best meet the needs of this rapidly growing demographic while fostering the growth of the wider community.

Events will include moving stories, featuring well known storytellers Bettina Nissen and Gail Robinson, a writing workshop with author and publisher Jill Morris, and a mini garden expo featuring gardening guru Ross McKinnon.

Looking for a Sea Change will be launched next Wednesday 22 February with a talk by special guest Cyndi O'Meara, author of the internationally acclaimed 'Changing Habits, Changing Lives'.

Members of the public are invited to attend Cyndi's informative talk, which starts at 10am at the Lake Kawana Community Centre.

The cost is $10, which includes morning tea. Bookings can be made through the Kawana Library on 5444 8022.
