The workshop will be a story exchange between generations - covering both oral and written stories. The aim is to deepen the bond of understanding between family generations, by helping each generation to recognise how much they have in common, and to respectfully wonder at the differences they each experience.

In the workshop, we will cover:
• Ways to compile a family story
• Storytelling and writing stories
• Ideas and starters
• Getting all the family involved
• Putting it all together, with photos and illustrations and souvenirs of the past • Keeping the project a manageable size

Participants will ideally be two, and possibly more members of a family. For example a grandmother and one or two grandchildren, a grandparent, parent and child, parent and adult child, non-related (but close senior and junior etc) Children must be 12 or older.

The group participants will do some storytelling, some writing, and some planning for developing the project further in the future. It will be an active, fun, easy and productive workshop, with the result being a very personal collection of family stories, put together as a family project, rather than by just one person.
