ONE DOLLAR PIE WEEKEND
Eumundi's Independent Theatre has announced an election weekend stimulus.
Spokesperson John Burls, says "Regardless of who gets in, the cost of living will continue to escalate and we'll soon be lucky to be able to afford to eat even a pie".
To help people look on the bright side, The Indee at Eumundi is declaring election weekend, One Dollar Pie Weekend. Everyone attending the Lux Radio Theatre show, Casablanca, on Friday, Saturday, Sunday (August 20,21,22), will be able to purchase a very good, tasty pie for just $1.
"This may well be the last time anyone can afford to eat even a pie so we're making the weekend memorable", Burls added.
The Lux Radio Theatre re-creates the days of Sunday night live radio drama with the cast dressed in evening wear, sound effects done live onstage, repro 40s-50s microphones and replica mantel radios on each table, so that audience members can stare at the lighted radio dial, as folk did back then.
The first half will feature a remembrance of Bob Dyer's quiz show, Pick a Box, with some great prizes to be won by audience members and the second half will be Casablanca. Shows at 7.30pm Friday 20th and Saturday 21st plus 2pm Sunday 22nd. Tickets $20, concessions and Sunday $18. 5472 8200.
