Tuesday, April 4, 2006 Maleny visitor information centre official opening
In recognition of its recent accreditation, an official opening celebration will be held this Thursday, April 6, at the Maleny Hinterland Visitor Information Centre.
Located at the Maleny Mountain Winery, 787 Landsborough-Maleny Road, the new centre offers visitors a wide range of quality, current information about services, facilities, venues and attractions in the hinterland, Caloundra City and across the Sunshine Coast.
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said the centre would complement the existing Visitor Information Centre Van at Glass House Mountains as well as the community-run Maleny Visitor Information Centre.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to reach the thousands of visitors who visit the region every year and to encourage them to spend more time and money in our beautiful City," Cr Aldous said.
Divisional Councillor Dick Newman said the new centre, with its stunning views, will be a great boost to an already thriving tourism industry.
The Maleny Hinterland Visitor Information Centre is open seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm, closing only on Good Friday and Christmas Day. To contact the centre, phone (07) 5499 9788.
The centre will be officially opened by Mayor Don Aldous on Thursday, April 6 at 3.30pm.
