Discover who lives here and how mangroves help save our shores from erosion.  Learn why they are so important to many marine animals - and humans too!  A short meander leads you along a boardwalk through this fascinating ecosystem. (Minimum age 6 years)

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service's (QPWS) Go Bush Sunshine Coast holiday program provides nature-based activities at Noosa, Weyba Creek, Glass House Mountains, Kondailla and Bribie Island. Join the local park ranger to learn more about the environment in this exciting program - there is something for everyone.

NOOSA
21 Night discovery walk
Do creatures of the night amaze you? A slight rustle in the bushes, flapping of unseen wings and a pair of large glowing eyes staring down at you. Come along and find out some interesting facts about creatures of the night on the easy paced guided spotlight walk.  End the night with a hot cuppa and a chat. (Minimum age 8 years)
When: A) Wednesday 10 January: 7.15pm - 9.15pm
When: B) Wednesday 17 January: 7.15pm - 9.15pm

GLASS HOUSE MOUNTAINS
24 Mt Ngungun walk - (moderate, with some steep sections)
Climb to the summit of Mt Ngungun with a ranger guide. Discover the geological history and enjoy the 360-degree views from the summit and learn about local flora magnificence. A medium level of fitness required. Morning tea provided. (Minimum age 8 years)
When: Thursday 18th January: 8.00 - 10.30am

26 Backyard Rangers
Hey kids, come and learn about what you can do in your backyard to help care for the environment.  Meet and greet some unusual backyard animals. Activities and morning tea included. Children must be accompanied by an adult. (6 - 10 years)

BRIBIE ISLAND
27 Beach Detectives
Explore the beach environment with a ranger and learn about the animals and plants that live here. As a beach detective, you'll discover what clues to look for and what they tell you about wildlife activity. (8 - 12 years)
