A conversation to plan Maroochy North Shore's future
Sunshine Coast Council invites Maroochy North Shore residents to be part of a community conversation on the future planning of their community at one of three workshops in early December.
To kick off the land use planning review for the Maroochy North Shore, Council wants to hear from locals about their ideas for the future and of any challenges or issues that the area faces.
The information and understanding gained from the workshop conversations will be the basis for the development of a future plan for the area which in turn will feed into council's new planning scheme for the Sunshine Coast region.
Division 8 Councillor, Debbie Blumel said it is vital to begin this work with community consultation and is encouraging residents to meet with her and Council officers at the scheduled workshops.
"There are things that local people know best," Cr Blumel said.
"They are the ones who experience the daily problems with transport, traffic congestion, lack of community facilities, environmental issues, the need for open space, and the need for a fresh new look.
"Through this land use review, I hope we can engage with local people to lay the foundations for vibrant village hubs and connected communities.
"Council officers will be with me to listen to the needs of all the communities on the Maroochy North Shore."
