Sunshine Coast Polo will be holding the Mary Valley Polo Classic, a zero goal tournament on the weekend of July 18 and 19. Grab a bunch of friends; pack the picnic basket and head up to the outskirts of Gympie near the banks of the Mary River to watch the fast and furious sport of polo. Unlike the famous scene out of Pretty Woman, the Sunshine Coast Polo club is welcoming and accepts both Bollinger champagne sippers to beer enthusiasts. Watch in amazement at the athleticism of these polo ponies and their riders in competition mode.
Sunshine Coast Polo has raised the stakes with this flagship tournament where the winning team can take home up to $2400 and the winning sponsor cashes in up to $1200. On both Saturday and Sunday there will be a range of food and drinks available for purchase. Or have your own car boot party and pack a sumptuous picnic lunch, roll out the picnic rug, crack open the PIMMS and lounge in the winter sun.
If you would prefer to cut to the chase, the final will be played on Sunday at 3.30pm.
