Mealtime Memories opens at the Butter Factory, Cooroy
"Food plays an important role within families, communities and cultures. It can be both a source of joy and frustration; create connections, stories and memories; and can be used in times of celebration, comforting or remembrance," believes Katie Edmiston from Noosa Council.
The Mealtime Memories exhibition at the Butter factory Arts Centre in Cooroy is the focus of the second Creative Histories projects, run by Noosa Council that documents and celebrates the personal stories and histories of people within our Shire.
Thirteen local seniors attended weekly arts-based workshops over a three-month period to develop their memories, stories and recipes into an exhibition and artists' book.
The exhibition and book will be on display at the Butter Factory Arts Centre in Cooroy from 5-19 March, from 10am-4pm Monday - Friday, and 10am-2pm Saturday.
