A great day for the whole family with free entry, great entertainment, heaps of competitions and prizes, lots to see and learn about local fishing & seafood industries and bucket-loads of seafood!
The second annual Mooloolaba Seafood Festival will be held on Sunday, 17th September, 2006, from 8:30am - 5:00pm, and promises to be another spectacular day of family fun, entertainment, education and sensational local seafood.
Run by the Mooloolaba Seafood Festival Association Inc. the Festival is a non-profit event educating the public about our local seafood and fishing industries, and raising much-needed funds for local charities that support these industries, including the Mooloolaba Coastguard.
The inaugural Festival, held in November 2005, attracted more than 10,000 people. This year the event is expected to attract up to 20,000 people - make sure you don't miss out on the fun...and sensational local seafood at The Spit, Mooloolaba.

There was definitely something fishy about Maroochy Shire Mayor Joe Natoli when he threw down the gauntlet (or should we say…the mullet!) for the inaugural mullet-throwing competition.
More than 40 competitors vied for the title of mullet-thrower-extraordinaire but there could only be one winner.
The tradition has begun and is set to explode this year as competitors prepare themselves to break the current record - will it be you?
With some great prizes up for grabs it's time to start training - this year there will be a men's and women's competition.
There will also be the very slippery and sometimes oddly-aimed kids slimy-mackerel throwing competition so why not get the whole family in training.
Test your skill by peeling a prawn with one handOne-handed prawn peeling
If you want to try your hand at prawn peeling then try it single-handed in a race against others - we'll even let you eat your prawns (oh, and there's prizes too).
Don't forget the special kids comp. - check out the website find out more.
