The story behind the story of the epic film, Gone With the Wind, will
soon be revealed to Coast audiences in the hit stage play, Moonlight
Why filming was closed down after just three weeks and why stars Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard and Olivia de Havilland were left twiddling their thumbs for a week, forms the basis of the plot.
One of the greatest and most popular films of all time, Gone With the Wind, was awarded eight competitive Oscars and two honorary Oscars but nearly didn't make it.
Moonlight and Magnolias tells what happened when production was shut down for five days. Producer David O Selznick came close to losing everything, director Victor Fleming was pulled off filming Wizard of Oz to take over and ace writer Ben Hecht was hauled in to rewrite the entire thing.
Featuring Brett Klease as David O Selznick, Luke Lanham as Victor Fleming and Wayne Clark as Ben Hecht, this comedy is directed by noted actor-director, Carol Burns.
Moonlight and Magnolias will play 7.30 Friday and Saturday, May 27th, 28th and June 3rd and 4th and 2pm Sunday 29th, 5pm Sunday 5th.
Tickets $22, concessions and Sundays $20.
