Moonwalk your way into good health in 2008!
If you haven't already blown it, now is the time to test those new year's resolutions with the official start of moonwalking season!
One of Caloundra City Council's most popular recreation programs, moonwalking is a great way to not only experience the beauty of the City's coastline by moonlight, but also to improve fitness.
So if one of your resolution's this year is to get fit and healthy, then the free moonwalking program is a great way to start.
Moonwalks recommence tonight from Golden Beach (meet at Fraser Park), Lake Kawana (meet at viewing platform on Sportsman's Parade) and Shelly Beach (meet at car park).
The walks depart at 7.30pm sharp and take approximately 45 minutes. Walkers are encouraged to walk at their own pace, and always in pairs.
Walkers should arrive five minutes early and bring a torch, water bottle and dress for comfort.
Moonwalking is part of Heart Foundation Walking, Australia's largest network of free community based walking groups coordinated locally by Caloundra City Council.
To avoid weekends, walks are generally scheduled just before or after the actual full moon date.
Walkers can check out the full year's schedule for moonwalking, available online at www.caloundra.qld.gov.au
. The next moonwalk is scheduled for Thursday 21 February.
