Opera Singers To Head Mother's Day Super Concert At The Indee
This year's Mother's Day Super Concert at Eumundi's Indee Theatre, is power-packed with talent.
In the big line-up is show songstress, Calyce Bennetts, jazz man Brian King, song duetists, Bev Gourlay and Aart Shouten, violinist Iain MacLean, Australia's Pam Ayers Sheila Wolverson, The Young Players, tenor Barrie Woods and featuring Elizabeth Hood and her friends, Opera Queensland star, D'Arne Sleeman and noted pianist, Mark Leung.
Elizabeth, a wonderful comic soprano, is well-known to Indee audiences for her many appearances at the theatre over the years. She played Gracie Fields in Nancy I and Nancy in Nancy II as well as headlining the tribute concert to Gloria Gray at the end of 2010.
D'Arne Sleeman toured for 3 years as the lead in The Songbird with Opera Queensland and over the past 17 years has appeared in over 30 productions with them.
Noted pianist Mark Leung will play two special Chopin pieces, Valse op 69 and Mazurka op 24.
Other highlights include D'Arne with Queen of the Night from Mozart's Magic Flute, and Elizabeth with her very funny version of Someone is Sending me Flowers. Their duets will include For Good from Wicked, Panis Angelicus and Glitter and be Gay from Candide.
The annual Mother's Day Super Concert is at 2 o'clock, Sunday May 8th, doors open at 1.30. Tickets are $15, under 12s $10.
There's Lyn's Coffee Shop, with snacks, pies, cake, coffee and tea and the licensed Bio-Box bar has drinks at moderate prices.
At The Indee it's table seating and refreshments from the bar and coffee shop can be taken into the auditorium.
