March 30 2007 MUFFFY tickets are selling fast
Film buffs with a penchant for the unusual should get in quick to ensure they don't miss all the action at the Mondo Underground Film Festival for Young People.
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said tickets for MUFFFY are now on sale and organisers expect them to sell fast.
"MUFFFY is one of the region's most progressive and innovative youth arts festivals," Cr Aldous said.
"Now in its second year, this festival features a weekend of independent and underground film combined with film panel discussions, international film screenings, workshops and activities."
MUFFFY is an initiative of Caloundra Youthlinx, which aims to support young people across Caloundra City and the Sunshine Coast in learning, development, employment, culture and recreation through a range of activities and projects.
"This festival is a great initiative, providing an excellent opportunity for our young people to show off their creative talents through their own film creations," Cr Aldous said.
"But it is also an incredibly opportunity for our youth to learn about event management and embrace the challenges that come with producing such a comprehensive and quality event.
MUFFFY, which coincides with National Youth Week, will be launched at the Playhouse Theatre, Caloundra Cultural Centre on Friday April 13.
The festival will be hosted by the Hot FM morning crew - Ronnie, Sami and Todd. The full program can be viewed at the Mufffy Website
Tickets cost $5 for adults, $2.50 for students and children or $50 for a gold pass.
