Walk to support Domestic and Family Violence Prevention month

May is National Domestic Violence Prevention Month and the media is invited to join Mayor Mark Jamieson and the community on Wednesday, May 3 for a march and candlelit vigil to remember those who have been affected by domestic and family violence.

The march will head towards the ‘Loo with a View’ at Mooloolaba for a moving candle lighting ceremony to remember those who have sadly lost their lives to domestic and family violence.

During the ceremony numerous pairs of shoes will be placed on the sand to represent a person that has died as a result of domestic and family violence. This will be a very sobering reminder of the impacts this has on our community.
