Australia's pre-eminent road cycling championships, the annual National Road Cycling Championships, is now the largest competitive cycle event in Australia, attracting more than 1000 participants.
The 9-day event is Cycling Australia's official road cycling championships for elite and junior division competitors and is open to members of all cycling clubs in Australia. It offers a range of disciplines staged across picturesque locations such as Caloundra, Beerwah, Maleny, Coolum and Mooloolaba.
The "Sports Class" allows non-licenced and licenced competitors to participate in their own event as part of the Championships.
Queensland Events, USM Events and Cycling Australia signed a deal to stage the National Road Cycling Championships on the Sunshine Coast until 2006.
This year there are even more reasons to participate in the 2005 National Road Cycling Championships. The 10-day event doubles as the Cycling Australia official National Club Road Cycling Championships for the elite and junior division.

The juniors and seniors will compete on the same courses, tackling the tough hill climbs of Yandina, the fast flowing criterium circuit at Currimundi and the new time trial course at Kawana Waters. The time trial course is undoubtedly one of the best in the country, being part of a new motorway recently completed providing a smooth and very fast course.

USM Events, organisers of the National Road Cycling Championships (NRCC) have recently announced a joint promotional venture with Pepper's Hidden Vale Cycle Epic to create a true cycling festival for South East Queensland.
Kicking off the three week festival is the inaugural Caloundra's Coastal Ride for Camp Quality on August 28, a 10km, 30km or 50km cycle to raise money for Camp Quality, a mass participation fun event for everyone.
The next weekend sees the start of the Junior National Road Cycling Championships and the 3rd Peppers Hidden Vale Cycle Epic, Australia's toughest off road single day endurance event gets underway in the picturesque Lockyer Valley with the event starting from Preston Peak, Toowoomba and finishing 100km later at Peppers Hidden Vale, Grandchester.
