TAKE THE PLUNGE THIS MAY
With Noosa turning on some fabulous weather and May celebrations ready to commence there has never been a better time to take that final dip before winter than being part of this year's Noosa Blue Water Swim.
Now in its sixth year, the Noosa Blue Water Swim, held on Sunday 17 May 2009 continues to win over swimming enthusiasts looking for a great destination event heading into the more temperate season.
On the program this year includes the 2km Noosa Blue Water Swim from Tea Tree Bay around the headland to Noosa Main Beach or the 1km Ray White Ocean Swim from Little Cove to Main Beach. If you think those distances are a bit out of your league then try the 500m Splash and Nipper Challenge along Noosa Main Beach.
Due to National Parks and Wildlife restrictions, entries into the 2km event will be strictly limited to comply with these rules.
Entries for this year's event are already strong with participants expected to arrive from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, interstate and across the Sunshine Coast to fill the fields across all three events.
Importantly, the day is designed for fun and participation so there will be lots of random draw prizes given away so everyone has a chance to win.
"The Noosa Blue Water Swim continues to grow in popularity with many visitors realising that May is a perfect time to enjoy Noosa and Laguna Bay by competing in the swim and staying on to enjoy the Mayfiesta program," said Steve Cooper from Tourism Noosa.
In 2009 USM Events has chosen to support the Down Syndrome 'Down Under' Swimming Organisation as this year's official event charity.
