FRIDAY 17 JUNE, 2005 DAY 1

6-8pm QANTAS Opening Celebration on the Beach.
Featuring Michael Leunig, Marina Prior, Rory Williamson, Katrina Milosevic, The Delltones, Wendy Harmer and Fireworks Display by KC Fireworks.
A wonderful snapshot of the Noosa Longweekend.
Noosa Main Beach. Free to public.

SATURDAY 18 JUNE, 2005 DAY 2

8.30am Official Launch of The Floating Land exhibition by Tim Flannery
Noosa Woods, end of Hastings Street. Free to public

11.00am Wendy Harmer reading Pearlie Books at Noosa Library
Book sales and signing. Limited numbers.

2pm Heritage Walk #1 - Gubbi Gubbi
Noosa National Park. Participation Free

3pm Opening of Michael Leunig and Beautiful People Exhibitions
Noosa Regional Gallery, Tewantin.
Michael Leunig and Kim Guthrie will be present. Free to public. Book sales and signing.

SUNDAY 19 JUNE, 2005 DAY 3

10am-3pm Eumundi Food Fest
Includes a Farmers' Market, Food to Go, display of local artists works including an auction for 'Eumundi Art House'.

2pm Heritage Walk #2 - Tewantin with George Pearce.
Participation free.

MONDAY 20 JUNE, 2005 DAY 4

8.30am-3pm Noosa World Heritage Dreaming 1 - Cooloola's Sands of Time
Discover the majestic sandscapes of the Cooloola Section of the Great Sandy National Park with Noosa conservationist Dr Michael Gloster, and learn how they are part of Michael's Noosa World Heritage Dreaming.
Includes a walk up the Cooloola Sand Patch to Noosa's most panoramic wilderness vistas.
Bring your own lunch, morning and afternoon tea, and drinking water in a back pack or carry bag - we'll be lunching at the top of Cooloola Sand Patch after a 2km climb up the sand blow.
Hats and sunscreen recommended. Organise your own 4WD transport for this trip.
Meet at the car ferry at the end of Moorindil Street, Tewantin, at 8.30am. Ferry fee $5 each way. Guided tour free.

2pm Heritage Walk #3 - Hasting Street with Emma Freeman.
Paricipation free.

TUESDAY 21 JUNE, 2005 DAY 5

8.30am-11am Noosa World Heritage Dreaming 2 - Noosa Headland High lights
Discover or rediscover the world famous seascapes and landscapes of Noosa National Park with Noosa conservationist Dr Michael Gloster, and learn how they are part of Michael's Noosa world Heritage Dreaming.
Meet at the Information Centre inside the Park Road entrance to Noosa National Park at 8.30am, for a 10km walk, with a mixture of flats and gentle slopes. Bring your own water. Guided tour free.

2pm Heritage Walk #4 - Mill Point with Dr Ruth Kerr.
Participation free.

WEDNESDAY 22 JUNE, 2005 DAY 6

8.30am-3.30pm Noosa world Heritage Dreaming 3 - Noosa River Reflections
Relax on a lazy boat trip up the tranquil Noosa River into the heart of Cooloola National Park with Noosa conservationist Dr Michael Gloster, and learn how the river is part of Michael's Noosa World Heritage Dreaming.
Includes short walks at Kinaba Information Centre and Harry's Hut. We'll be voyaging up the river in the 'Beyond Noosa' tour boat.
Tickets are $69 per person, with morning and afternoon teas and a BBQ lunch included.
Limited seats available, so book early with 'Beyond Noosa' and tell them you're part of the Noosa Longweekend.
The boat departs Noosa Harbour Tewantin, at 9.30am and returns at 3.30pm. For bookings call 07 5449 9177

Participation free.

THURSDAY 23 JUNE, 2005 DAY 7

8.30am-11am Noosa World Heritage Dreaming 4 - Weyba Wallum and Wildflowers
Discover the little visited Weyba section of Noosa National Park with Noosa conservationist Dr Michael Gloster, and learn how wallum and wildflowers are part of Michael's Noosa World Heritage Dreaming.
Includes walking to the tranquil shoreline of Lake Weyba and climbing the Weyba High Dunes for coastal panoramic views. A 6km walk over undulating, sometimes steepish, sandy tracks.
Meet at Hawthorne Grove Park, Hawthorne Grove, Marcus Beach at 8.30am.
Bring your own drinking water. Guided tour free.

2pm Heritage Walk #6 - Hasting Street with Emma Freeman
Participation free

5pm Reelmad Film Festival Children's Day presented by Wide Bay Australia.
Children's Expression Workshop, a children's music program in association with Noosa Council.
Alfresco, Eumundi Road, Doonan. Tickets $10
Followed by children's international animation program at 5pm for 5.30pm. Viewing accompanied by a 'showbag' of healthy goodies.

FRIDAY 24 JUNE, 2005 DAY 8

8.30am-4pm Noosa World Heritage Dreaming - Northern Cooloola Classics
Discover some of the most iconic landscapes and seascapes at the northern end of Cooloola Nationa park with Noosa conservationist Dr Michael Gloster, and learn they are part of Michael's Noosa World Heritage Dreaming.
Includes walks to Lake Poona and Double Island Point Lighthouse. The Lake Poona walk is 4km return, and Double Island Point about the same.
Bring lunch, morning and afternoon tea, and drinking water in a backpack or carry bag. We'll be lunching at the top of Double Island Point. Organise your own 4WD transport. We'll be going up to norther Cooloola via inland roads, and home down the beach.
Meet at the corner of McKinnon Drive and Ringtail Creek Road, Tewantin at 9.30am. The vehicle river ferry fee coming home is $5. Guided tour free.

2pm Heritage Walk #7 - Cooran with Phil Moran.
Participation Free

5pm Launch of the Reelmad 24 Hour Film Making Competition, presented by Wide Bay Australia by Rory Williamson and David Williamson.
Alfresco, Eumundi Road, Doonan. Launch free to public.

SATURDAY 25 JUNE, 2005 DAY 9

2pm Heritage Walk #8 - Cooroy with Dr Ruth Kerr.
Participation free.

SUNDAY 26 JUNE, 2005 DAY 10

9am-10.30am Noosa World Heritage Dreaming Breakfast
If you share the dream of a World Heritage protected Cooloola National Park and Noosa National Park, then you are invited to join Dr Michael Gloster and fellow Noosa World Heritage dreamers for breakfast and a chat at the Noosa Park's Association Environment Centre, Wallace Park, Noosaville at 8.30am.
Bush breakfast and billy tea available for $5 courtesy of Noosa Parks Association. No booking required.

10am-noon Teddy Bears Picnic - for the kids with storytellers and live entertainment. Bring your teddy bear along.
Free entry. Numbers limited. Register from 9.30am for 10am start. Noosa Woods.

2pm Heritage Walk #9 - Kin Kin with John News
Participation free.
