As with all of their productions, Coolum Theatre Players continue to showcase the very best material and this end-of-year musical comedy, 'Nunsense' is just that.
Directed by David Williams, 'Nunsense - A Musical Comdey' features Cathy Quinn as the Rev. Mother, Vivienne Ellis as Sister Hubert and Coolum's Julia Loaney as Sister Robert Anne, along with two young Brisbane 'players' Erin Low and Sarah Ashby in the roles of Sisters Amnesia and Leo respectively.
An Ensemble of Carmel Mahoney, Isabella Brady, Lesley White, Maryse Tsigolis, and Sonia McMahon make up the entire cast. Also on board for this production are vocal coach Kath Williams and choreographer Rory Williamson.
Nunsense is a hilarious talent show staged by five survivors at the Little Sisters of Hoboken nunnery, the rest of the sisterhood having succumbed to botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia, Child of God. The remaining "Little Hobos" parade their talents at a variety show staged to raise funds so that the last four of the dearly departed can be buried. The score pulses with merriment and an unabashed desire to make you laugh, with songs and spontaneous comic interludes paced at break-neck speed. Nunsense offers a cornucopia of hilarity for the whole family, proving conclusively that nun rhymes with fun!
