The original guitar hero takes Nambour by storm
Not since the Black Sorrows hit Nambour's town square, have locals been in with such a treat.
On Friday 28 January, Aussie guitar legend Phil Emmanuel will strum his way into Nambour's history as he rocks out at the first Moonlight Market for 2011 in Nambour's Town Square.
Market Organiser Helen Langlois said that to get such a world renowned artist to play at the markets is a serious coup for Nambour.
"We always have a spectacular line up of entertainment, but getting Phil Emmanuel to play takes the Moonlight Market entertainment to a whole new level," Ms Langlois said.
"The Sunshine Coast is in for such a treat, the markets alone are well worth coming for, but to see Phil Emmanuel for free, well it just doesn't get much better than that.
"Phil, who performed at the 2010 Christmas carols in Melbourne with his brother Tommie and a host of Aussie and International artists, has recently moved to Nambour.
"The guitar legend has played all over the world alongside greats such as John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, Vanessa Amarosi, Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits; not to mention performing at the closing ceremony at the Olympic games in Sydney to an audience of 4.5 Billion!
"He'll open the night at 5pm with his Nambour TAFE master class students before moving on to his must see performance from 6.30pm.
"The Moonlight Markets have a great range of market stalls, an International food court and outdoor wine bar---it's got all the makings for a really memorable night," Ms Langlois said.
The Moonlight Markets are a regular Nambour event held on the last Friday of each month in the Nambour Town Square, corner of Short and Lowe St.
