In this special recital, Anna performs the repertoire of 'Piano Lessons', alongside readings from the book. It is a performance that is both comic and touching, and a great affirmation of the power of music.
Anna Goldsworthy is an Australian classical pianist and writer, well-known to Musica Viva audiences through her work with Seraphim Trio. She is Artistic Director of the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival, and records for the ABC Classics label.
Since its release in 2009, Anna's childhood memoir 'Piano Lessons' has become an Australian bestseller. It was awarded Newcomer of the Year at the 2010 Australian Book Industry Awards, and has been published in Canada, the United States and shortly in Korea, and is currently in development as a film.
