As part of the state-wide Courier Mail Big Book Club promotion, Maroochydore Library is delighted welcome Victorian author Steven Carroll who will talk about his latest work 'The Time We Have taken'.
The third novel in a series that began with 'The Art of the Engine Driver' and continued in 'The Gift of Speed', the author will be signing copies of his works that will also be available for individual purchase on Wednesday 23 May from 6pm to 8.30pm.
Social Development Portfolio Chair Councillor Jenny McKay said this event was a great opportunity to discover more about Maroochy Libraries Book Clubs and enjoy some wine and cheese at the same time.
"We are expecting this free event to be extremely popular so make sure if you want to come along, you reserve a place because seating is limited."
The Friends of Maroochydore Library in conjunction with Maroochy Libraries are also delighted to present a Potpourri of Poetry on Thursday 24 May from 5.30pm at a cost of $5.
Back by popular demand, the poetry recited will range from the bizarre and strange to the touching and humorous.
"This is a great chance for members of the community to come along and enjoy refreshments and be entertained by local Poet Laureates as they join together to recite their favourite poems," Cr McKay said.
