Decorative Pavers 2 February 2005
COOROY district residents can make a bid for immortality this coming Saturday, by engraving their names into pavers to be installed in Diamond Street as part of the new streetscape.
Residents and visitors to Cooroy have long admired the decorative bricks in the heritage streetscape in the Maple Street area on the other side of the tracks. From 8 am to 1.30 pm on Saturday, volunteers will be able help create unique pavers for the footpaths fronting the Diamond Street shops as well.
Local Councillor Ray Kelly said today the exercise would produce another highly original footpath for Cooroy and also generate a feeling of ownership for the local community. A sausage sizzle has been arranged for participants.
