(Last show for 2004)
Regional audiences will experience an evening of fine chamber music when TNT Brass performs on stage during their regional Queensland tour in October.
Queensland Arts Council and Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University are pleased to present the prestigious Gertrude Langer Ensemble 2004 award winners.
The Gertrude Langer Ensemble is a highly competitive award aimed at selecting the finest chamber ensemble musicians from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.
>From Stauss, Mozart and Tchaikovsky, to jazz, contemporary and classic chamber repertoire and traditional pieces, TNT Brass presents a dazzling repertoire, challenging traditional perceptions of chamber music with a few clever and entertaining surprises.
TNT Brass are; Todd Burke - Trombone, Sam Hosking - Tuba, Thomas Humphrey - Tenor Tuba and Jason Luostarinen - Bass Trombone.
QAC Ontour Onstage manager Jane Atkins said the award is "a professional development initiative which highlights the strong tradition QAC has for nurturing emerging artists".
"We are delighted to present these exciting artists to regional Queensland audiences following a European tour in July and August," Ms Atkins said.
All members of TNT Brass are currently studying at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. The group was formed in 2004 after members were inspired by playing together in the Queensland Youth Symphony.
The Gertrude Langer ensemble is dedicated to the memory of Queensland Arts Council's founder and formidable arts advocate, Dr Gertrude Langer.
This tour is assisted by Arts Regional Touring Service (ARTS), a Queensland Government initiative.
