Warm your heart on May 21 with a screening of 'ET'
at Flicks in the Sticks
Flicks in the Sticks will be finishing its current season with a fun-filled family screening of that timeless classic 'ET -- The Extra Terrestrial'.
Flicks Director Trent Harvison says "We'd like to thank all of our patrons for attending our screenings since we commenced in December 2009, but with the colder weather rapidly approaching, we'll take a break over the cooler months and return bigger and better in the Spring"
"ET is sure to appeal to everybody -- kids love it and for adults it's a nostalgic trip down memory lane to when they first saw it," says Trent "We always ask our patrons for what they'd like us to screen and ET is always at the top of the list."
"If you've never been to Flicks before, now's your last chance for a few months. What a great way to enjoy the last of the warm weather outdoors in a family friendly environment while watching an all-time classic"
The Eumundi Showgrounds gates will open to moviegoers from 5pm, with the screening starting around 6.15pmish. BYO rug, chair or blanket, with beanbags available for hire.
A full candy bar will be in operation with all the usual goodies, including gourmet hot dogs, curries, and Mediterranean mezze plates.
"The cost for the night is only $8 per person, and it's free for children under three years of age," says Trent. "The price also includes a glow light and a locally handmade chocolate or drink, and we think it just might be the best value night out on the Coast!"
Flicks in the Sticks is at the Eumundi Showgrounds, a secure family-friendly venue at the Cooroy end of Memorial Drive, Eumundi.

A bit about the movie...
While visiting the Earth at Night, a group of alien botanists is discovered and disturbed by an approaching human task force. Due to the hasty take-off, one of the visitors is left behind. The little alien finds himself all alone on a very strange planet. Fortunately, the extra-terrestrial soon finds a friend and emotional companion in 10-year-old Elliot, who discovered him looking for food in his family's garden shed. While E.T. slowly gets acquainted with Elliot's brother Michael, his sister Gertie, as well as with Earth customs, members of the task force work day and night to track down the whereabouts of Earth's first visitor from Outer Space.
The wish to go home again is strong in E.T., and after being able to communicate with Elliot and the others, E.T. starts building an improvised device to send a message home for his folks to come and pick him up. But before long, E.T. gets seriously sick, and because of his special connection to Elliot, the young boy suffers, too. The situation gets critical when the task force finally intervenes. By then, all help may already be too late, and there's no alien spaceship in sight...
