April 18:  Help take our Message to Brisbane and all of Australia - Mary River dam opponents take bus to Senate Inquiry hearings in Brisbane.
- opponents will greet Senators arriving at the hearings at 1 Eagle St, Brisbane
- they will also have the Knit for Mary scarf (all 370 metres) on display: this knitting project has provided individuals in the community with a means of channelling their anger and frustration in a positive direction as well as providing those who support the cause a visible means of showing their support. Hundred of people from all over Australia have made contributions to the scarf. The scarf also symbolizes the close-knit communities and residents' desire to wrap the valley and all its creatures with our protective energies. During the Morning Tea Break the scarf will be unfurled starting from 1 Eagle Street down along the Brisbane River, with Reverend Iain Watt of the Uniting Church a spokesperson for this event.
- the dam opponents will be calling on the Federal Government and in particular Senator Malcolm Turnbull to exercise his powers under the EPBC Act and make a decision to halt this proposal now.

April 21-22:  Reverend Dr David Pitman, Moderator of the Queensland Uniting Church is returning to visit with people of the Mary Valley. Almost a year after the Premier's announcement of the proposed dam, David Pitman will give feedback to the community on what he has said to the Premier on the Mary Valley's behalf and what the church is planning. (See what he said after his visit last June
David would also be interested in hearing how people are faring after a year of turmoil. David has committed to hold this community's plight before the wider church and the Premier.
- there will be an open meeting at the Imbil Uniting Chuch community hall on April 21 at 7pm. All are welcome. Andrew Johnson, the current Justice and International Mission Advocate will be there to listen as well.
- David will also be guest speaker at the Imbil service on Sunday 8.30. Again all would be welcome to visit, listen and talk with David.
