Rotary Noosa Daybreak invites you to come and see something different ! Beginning in Hobart this week, 12 intrepid motorcyclists are riding 4,700km to Cairns on postie bikes, working their way up the East Coast of Australia, stopping regularly to talk to community groups about men's health issues and raising funds along the way. These riders will be in Noosa overnight on Tuesday 30th August. Meet them over a BBQ tea at The Mens Shed, Wallum Lane, Noosa Heads from 4pm on. Their passion is to raise awareness of men's health issues and much needed funds to dramatically improve specific medical outcomes for men.
They are supporting two charities;
• The Australian Prostate Cancer Centre to purchase non-invasive prostate and bladder inspection cameras, &
• Precious dollars to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia for much needed research.
Prostate cancer survivor, Rotarian Malcolm McGinn has championed the fundraising campaign. He and his team of riders have already managed to gather an impressive amount of community support for the ride, with a significant amount already both pledged and raised through the sponsoring Claremont Rotary Club of Tasmania. Once the Riding Posties for Prostate team arrive in Cairns their trusty bikes will all then be auctioned off for the cause.
You can keep track of the campaign and make donations on their Facebook Page, by following the Donate link. https://www.facebook.com/postiesforprostate/ . Big or small, 100% of your donation will go toward changing the course of men's health. For more information and to support the cause, please call 1300 791 226
