INTERNATIONALLY respected concert violinist Attilla Sautov has an ambitious dream.
The Mueller College music teacher believes that with assistance, he and a like-minded group of music lovers headed by Moreton Bay councillor James Houghton can create a Moreton Bay Region Youth Symphony Orchestra. The first step in establishing the orchestra is a presentation of a classical music program entitled Rising Youth Stars Performance 2010 at the new 1700 seat auditorium of the Mueller Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, July 31 at 7.30pm. Morris Road, Rothwell. The program reads like a Who's Who of child proteges.
Seven-year-old hild prodigy Shuan Hern Lee will showcase his talents on the piano at the Mueller Performing Arts Centre on 31 July, alongside some of the country's other exceptional young instrumental talents. Taught to play the piano at two-and-a- half years of age, the young maestro has already taken his talents to the Big Apple in the past two years, performing at Merkin Hall and Carnegie Hall, in New York City.
Earlier this year he made the semi-finals of Australia's Got Talent, stunning audiences and judges of the television entertainment program with renditions of pieces such as "Flight of the Bumblebee" by Rachmaninoff.
The song was famously featured in the 1996 film Shine, the biographical account of acclaimed pianist David Helfgott.
The winner of the National Youth Competition 2009, Chinese cellist Rachel Siu and Korean violinist Jasmine Jin, winner of the Australian Young Musician of the Year title in 2009 are also featured artists. More than 16 young artists will perform in the concert with music from Mozart, Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Elgar, Wieniawski, Saint-Saens, Jenkinson, Irish Folk Song ''Toss The Feathers'', Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and Redcliffe Musical Theatre performing classics from The Sound of Music Production.
