The Currimundi Catchment Care Group is asking volunteers to help clean up the Currimundi waterways in the annual River Sweep event on Sunday 17th May. Volunteers are asked to bring their tinnies, kayaks or canoes to Currimundi Lake and to spend two hours cleaning out rubbish from the water.

We will meet at 9am and sign on near the pontoon at the western end of Noel Burns Park, Mulloka Drive, Wurtulla. Once volunteers have collected a bag, they will be directed to paddle along the lake, up the creek or into the canals to pick up rubbish. The Sunshine Council Waterways Patrol will also be helping on the day. Even if residents do not have a canoe, they can still help by collecting litter from the water's edge.

A sausage sizzle will be held as a thank you to all participants.
