The 2ND annual Sunshine Coast Robotics Challenge offers even more robotic and control exposure for students than last year's Mars Lunar Challenge, as if last year wasn't challenging enough with a 12 meter Mars surface replica as the premier event.
For 2016 the premier event is appropriately named "Bootcamp" as students are provided Humanoid Bioloid robots that must climb walls, crawl through spaces, action flying foxes and navigate mazes.
Several other robot systems are available and will capture any student interest from Rover Rescue to Insectoids to Robotic Arms to 3D Printed robots. There are plenty of learning opportunities to be accessed. Available to ages 12+ and all experience levels are welcome to register.
Every student entered is eligible for a drawprize of an UP Mini+2 3D printer! Any school that enters 4 or more students is eligible for a separate large volume UP Box 3D Printer! Guest speakers from CSIRO and the Australian International Robotics Soccer Team engineering will be onsite lecturing and demonstrating advanced research robotic systems.
As an open-to-public event, everyone is welcome to attend the event and lectures. Robotics teacher, organiser and business owner Nick Gates is happy to answer any questions regarding age appropriate challenges, BYO robots or levels of logic or coding skills required. The website offers exceptional video inspiration and robot system details to those interested.
