With live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays Tewantin-Noosa RSL is one of the greatest live music venues in Noosa, particularly as most of the entertainment on offer is free!
This week is a great example, starting with Sheez Jake on Thursday 4th October in the South Bar at 7pm. Sheez Jake consists of Brendan Joiner and Linda Medlyn, a fresh and earthy acoustic duo who have a passion for heart and harmony in their music.
Having grown up in Australia in the 80's they have focused their sights and sounds on music from that era, reworking some of their old favourites from bands such as Australian Crawl, Paul Kelly, Mental as Anything and Hunters & Collectors to name a few. Of more recent times, artists such as The Waifs, Pete Murray & Kasey Chambers are included in their repertoire.
Whilst they have a love of 'home grown' material they also perform favourites from overseas artists including U2, The Cranberries, Oasis, Tracey Chapman and many more.
They like to keep it fun and real, while also maintaining a professional sound and stage
appearance. They love what they do and appeal to audiences of all ages, sometimes even throwing in a traditional number like 'Waltzing Matilda’.
On Friday night, Romeo’s Apprentice play in the Digger’s Bar at 8pm which is free for members and $10 for non-members. Romeo’s Apprentice is a local family cover band. Awesome vocals, acoustic guitar and a focus on the front line and dancing has created a strong fan base for this band. Crowd participation and integration is the focus of every performance.
Saturday brings all the hits, all the sound and all the style of The Beatles performed by tribute band, the Beatlegs. This popular tribute band uses authentic instruments, superb vocal harmonies and precise attention to detail to faithfully recreate the magical sound of The Beatles that fans adore.
There is absolutely no need to close your eyes to get back to the golden age of popular music as this tribute act is so close to the real thing. The Beatlegs Show reflects the changing moods of the swinging 60’s and features the formal suits of Beatlemania, psychedelic Sergeant Pepper costumes and the informal outfits of The Beatles final years.
Paul Verni as Ringo Starr, Shaun Croaker as John Lennon, Jamie Fraser as Paul McCartney and Steve Baker as George Harrison give the audience a shot of nostalgia that reaches out and touches everyone. Playing all The Beatles classic hits, their show has proved irresistible to Beatle fans of all ages.
The four lads will have you up dancing all night and will keep you entertained with their humour and antics on stage. With more than 80 Beatle songs in their repertoire from ‘She Loves You’ to ‘Hey Jude’, a splendid time is guaranteed for all.
