Local Car Show set to shine.
Rotary Mooloolaba will hold its First Annual Classic & Vintage Car Show at Quad Park, Nicklin Way Kawana on Sunday May 15th.
Planned as the first of a series of major car shows, approximately 150 enthusiasts will display a huge range of vintage, classic and unusual vehicles from the 7 horsepower, boat-tail Austin Seven tourer up to Mustang muscle cars and rarities like the German Borgward Isabella - thought in its time to be a major competitor to BMW and Audi.
There will be prizes for 5 different categories of vehicles, all provided by Rotary Mooloolaba.
Cars aren't the only attraction. This is a day out for the entire family. There will be food, drinks, jazz bands, face-painting, a jumping castle and plenty of other things that will keep the kids interested while mum and dad take in the array of special metal and the car buffs, swap stories and experiences.
Gates open at 10.00am and admission is $5 for adults with all kids free.
Funds raised will go to a wide range of community activities that Rotary supports with both time and money. Rotary members are personally funding the event which should be set to be a major show on the Sunshine Coast.
Vintage and classic car owners who haven't booked in yet and would like to show and share their treasured vehicles are more than welcome and should call Bob O'Connor of Mooloolaba Rotary on 5478 0313.
Entry for exhibitors starts at 9.00 and given the space Quad Park offers, there'll be room for all.
