Leading not-for-profit aged care provider RSL Care is significantly expanding its HomeCare, retirement living and residential aged care services on the Sunshine Coast following a recent funding boost.
RSL Care Sunshine Coast Area Manager Steve Powell said the organisation is now keen to consult with the community about how aged care in the region can be improved and will be conducting a series of Community Forums in February and March (details overleaf).
"We will be holding a number of Community Forums around the Sunshine Coast to give local members of the community an opportunity to not only learn more about our services, but also have a say about how they think aged care services in the region can be improved."
The Community Forums follow recent news of RSL Care's success in gaining approval for an additional 73 aged care beds in the Commonwealth Government Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR).
RSL HomeCare services will also expand significantly throughout the region thanks to the ACAR funding. Services offered by RSL HomeCare include community nursing, personal care, domestic assistance, home safety advice, social support and home-based respite.
"This funding enables us to continue to meet a growing demand for quality aged care on the Sunshine Coast by extending our Retirement Communities and expanding our HomeCare services," Mr Powell said. "Now it is the community's turn to have a say in how our services can work best for Sunshine Coast seniors."
Those not able to attend a forum are still welcomed to provide their feedback by calling 1300 796 111.
RSL Care provides HomeCare, retirement living and residential care services to veterans and the wider community. From simple beginnings in 1936, the organisation has grown to accommodate more than 3,300 people in 21 retirement communities located throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales.
