Hear the roar of a million paws!

For 16 years the RSPCA Million Paws Walk has attracted animal lovers from across the country. Every year thousands of animals and their devoted owners head to parks across the state to participate in the annual walk.

RSPCA Qld spokesperson Andrea Fagg said that last year the Queensland division of the event raised over $120,000, with approximately 8,000 participants taking part.

"Apart from being a vital source of funding for the RSPCA, the Million Paws Walk is also a great way to get active and have a fantastic time doing it," Ms Fagg said.

This year there are 24 walks scheduled throughout Queensland and each venue will have a variety of activities, displays and competitions. Plus there will be food and drink for the whole family -including the family pooch.

"Whether you have pets or not, we'd love you to join the pack and participate one of the many walks, mingle with pet owners, get involved with competitions and activities, or just enjoy the festival atmosphere," Ms Fagg continued.

The Million Paws Walk is the RSPCA's biggest fundraising event of the year.

"Last year 42,555 animals passed through RSPCA Qld shelters and without the Million Paws Walk, financially, RSPCA Qld simply couldn't cope."

Schools and Businesses are encouraged to enter teams and walkers can pick up sponsorship forms before the event.
