Benefit Concert to make a real Ruckus at Morayfield

Get ready for 14 massive hours of music at the Morayfield Community Hall on December 16 with Ruckus, a concert consisting of 20 local and national acts kicking off at 10am.

Ruckus is the product of 19-year-old Co-President/Orion Entertainment Founder Elliot Peters, who has developed the concert with the intent purpose of providing local youth the opportunity to celebrate the end of the school year in a safe environment which, in turn, will benefit the entire community.

Furthermore, the main focus of Orion Entertainment events is to foster networks for local up-and-coming musicians.

Ruckus seeks to bring youth together in a much needed event which will bring them in contact with new bands and the non-profit organisation Reach out! Reach out! is an online service that inspires young people to help themselves through tough times. Three dollars from every ticket sold will go straight to Reach out!

Elliot had this to say about the services on offer at Reach Out!, "Having had a lot of experience directly and indirectly with depression, I know personally how valuable their services are to young people. Depression is a massive problem in the teenage age group and the more we can do to support this the better. Their online service has channelled into the computer dwelling youth of today and it's a great way for teens to find out about depression and the help that is out there. Check it out online www.reachout.com.au"

Ruckus Organiser Mr Peters said that youth events such as the upcoming concert are vital to showcase to the community the positive attitudes and outcomes of what the youth are doing today.

"With such a negative portrayal of youth these days, we've developed Ruckus with the intention to invite the community along and see first hand what youth can and are doing today," he said.

"As well as providing an exciting opportunity for young local bands to get exposure alongside bigger, well-known bands, and of course for those who are finishing high school and looking to celebrate with a huge day of excellent music."

The event will be headlined by 5 nationally successful Brisbane bands, Avalon Drive, This collision, Another Day Down, Dead Letter Circus and State of Integrity. These bands, who have toured nationally, are giving their time to the show and the local bands to give them advice.

The bands will be supported by 15 local up-and-coming bands from the region, some of whom have been together less then a year.

These local bands are extremely excited about the opportunity to play at such a worthwhile event and meet bands who they are influenced by.

Ruckus is an all-ages event.  Doors open at 10am and cost of entry is $23 pre sale + bf and $27 at the door.
