Sensual Rhythms to Heat up the j

Wild gypsy jazz, passionate tango and exuberant flamenco will unite in Noosa Junction at the j, a progressive venue with an alternative artistic program, on Saturday April 21.

SARS, a fiery flamenco jazz ensemble that fuses music and dance, have chosen the j to perform their last Australian concert before embarking on an international tour beginning in Tokyo.

Evocative of a 1920's Paris cafe scene filtered through an edgy and contemporary sensibility, SARS is a celebration of the musical passions of its members. Featuring the smooth tones of double bass player Andrew Shaw, John Rogers vigorous violin improvisations and the sensual sounds of renowned Spanish guitarist Andrew Veivers, SARS reinvent tradition through their blend of captivating rhythms and artistic flair.  Simone Pope's mesmerising flamenco dancing and percussion enhance the groups' instrumental tunes to create an exhilarating performance not to be missed.

As accomplished entertainers on the Australian festival circuit, SARS is a regular inclusion in the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the Noosa Long Weekend and the Woodford Folk Festival.

SARS will perform at the j at Noosa Junction on Saturday April 21. The bar will begin serving at 7.00pm for a 8.00pm start. For further information check out the j's website or phone (07) 5455 4455 to book your place.
