Welcome and thank you for taking an interest in what can only be described as a unique endurance and obstacle challenge opportunity unlike any other, set to test participants mental courage and physical abilities with all profits generated being donated to Homes for Heros, an initiative of RSL Life Care.
RSL LifeCare founded Homes for Heroes, which is a comprehensive rehabilitation program intended to provide young men and women returning from contemporary conflicts the stability, security, support and opportunity to “get back on their feet”. Homes for Heroes takes the ‘housing first’ approach advocated by Mission Australia, and woven through many wrap-around programs and services. Homes for Heroes has proved therapeutic; providing stability and assurance that they will not be “kicked out”, giving peace and security in a calm environment; living in a veteran environment where there is recognition of their military service and understanding; and being offered options to become involved in meaningful work and activities. It is worth noting that one hundred per cent of our young veteran residents suffer with mental illness, many are also wounded or injured and often arrive with no possessions at all.
