Already a red hot success in Montville and Cooroy, Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct is thrilled to bring Scone Time to the Glass House Mountains on Thursday, March 5 from 10am to noon.

Heritage Portfolio Councillor Rick Baberowski said Scone Time was a perfect way to bring the community together and see an exceptional bit of our heritage at the same time.

“Sharing food has always been a remarkable way to get to know each other and Scone Time is a fantastic opportunity to get your friends together, and possibly invite someone along who you just think needs to get out and about a bit more,” Cr Baberowski said.

“No matter what the weather is like, you’re guaranteed a scrumptious morning tea of freshly baked scones and some lovely musical entertainment, all at the remarkable Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct.

“What could be better than bringing wholesome food and heritage together? Grab a friend, acquaintance or put a group together and while you’re there you can also view the current exhibition and enjoy a great insight into our early settlement years through a free guided tour.”

Hosted by local chef Martin Duncan (aka Sunshine Coast Foodie), Scone Time began in 2018 to provide seniors with an opportunity to attend a regular social event.

“I started Scone Time to help the older people feel more connected to their community,” Mr Duncan said.

“From humble beginnings, we have now hosted more than 18 Scone Time events.

“I’m excited to be taking Scone Time on the road to Bankfoot House and look forward to meeting new friends from the Glass House community.”

Open to all, this event is also a wonderful opportunity for older people, along with their carers, companions and family.
