Location: Kawana Community Hall,
For their final event of the year, the Sunshine Coast Concert Band will host a sing-a-long carols event featuring all the favourites at the Kawana Community Hall at 2pm on Sunday, December 5.
Music Director, Ken Chadwick OAM along with singers Bev Gourlay, Aart Schouten and Alan Winter, compere Steve Dickson MP and the fantastic sound of the big band promise to present all the traditional favourites and Christmas songs to put people in the mood for the festive season.
"The community has been great in supporting our events over the years and Christmas carols are always popular for those looking to get into the Christmas spirit," Ken Chadwick OAM said.
"This event is great for everyone who enjoys the festive sounds of Christmas, whether you like to sing-a-long or sit back and enjoy the big band sound. We also look forward to wishing everyone well for the festive season and 2011."
The Sunshine Coast Concert Band has been raising money for local charities for over ten years now, with all proceeds from each dance and concert going towards various charities across the region. However, this particular event will raise money for the band to cover costs such as the hiring of the practice hall which makes these great performances possible.
Tickets are available for purchase at the door for $10 which includes afternoon tea. For more information please visit www.sccb.org.au.
