This International Women’s Day, we'd love you to join us and Sing for the Trees in the beautiful Noosa Botanic Gardens at Lake Macdonald, Cooroy. We're organising this beautiful, nourishing, community event with the help of global grassroots women-led reforestation movement, TreeSisters. We’re honouring our connection to Nature, each other and the trees by gathering the women and singing to, for and with the trees.

You don’t need to be able to sing. If you can talk you can sing! All you need is an open heart, your love for Nature and a willingness to do something a bit different and very nourishing with a group of wonderful, local women.

We have gorgeous, simple songs to sing. The plan is to meet at the botanic gardens to sing at 9.30am on March 9th (there may be a guided walk of the gardens at 8 or 8.30 for an hour - to be confirmed). Then we'll have a morning tea 10-10.30 (byo cup and something to share if desired.) We may also do a Nature based arts activity at 10.30 for half to three quarters of an hour.

We will have rehearsals/get-togethers at Caplick Park, Eumundi from 3 - 4.30 pm for the 3 preceding Saturdays. ie: 16th and 23rd February, 2nd March. We'll meet by the playground, so if you need to bring your kids, that's fine.

We've chosen to do this with TreeSisters because it really matters that we come together, grow our resilience, nurture ourselves, each other and the land, in these very uncertain times.
We humans depend on trees for so many things: oxygen, cleaning pollution from the air, drawing up water from deep in the Earth to nourish rivers and streams, seeding our rainfall, providing habitat for millions of creatures, protecting soil microbes from over-heating, preventing erosion, minimising flood damage, creating beauty, and so much more. Our trees are critical to a healthy, thriving world and are one of the best buffers against climatic changes.

We know that when women raise their voices, magic happens. When women rise, we can create incredible change in the world and inspire others to do the same. We influence our children, our extended families and our communities - the action women take really matters.

When we come together to nourish each other and the Earth, we are weaving deeper connection to Nature and our own natures. If you’d like to see how inspiring this can be, have a look at treesister Liz Terry on IWD 2018 and the powerful magic she wove with women in Stroud, UK here:

Please join me to show our appreciation and love for the trees on this very special day. You can register your interest by clicking Going on this event or emailing Pollyanna at

See you at our first rehearsal!
