The Sunshine Castle is once again proud to announce their much awaited school holiday program.

Visit the Castle and get that royal treatment from Sir Justyn or Lord Stephen and our Castle Wenches. Spring has sprung and a great season for a Castle experience! Check out our great Calender of events and activities sure to set a new standard in medieval education, fun activities and creative recreation.

Sir Justyn's Crafts of the Middle Ages

Well known medieval performer and educator and Sunshine Castle resident Knight since 2014, Sir Justyn, is set to show you the Crafts of the Middle Ages

Learn how maille armour (known to most today as chain mail) was made, watch a bow being crafted, and see arrows being made. See and handle some of the medieval craftsman's tools and even try your hand at some of these crafts yourself.

You'll learn about armour and shield making, leather work, woodwork, lace making, medieval glues, bottle making, and lots more.

A day with Sir Justyn must also include some of the all time favourite activities including Archery, Junior Jousting and the Trebuchet Toss.

Storytelling with Lord Stephen - The mysteries of King Arthur

The Storyteller extraordinaire Lord Stephen of Landsborough tells all "The mysteries of King Arthur and the Round Table"

  • to listen and learn
  • to wander and ponder
  • to imagine and relive

As he recounts the stories of travels and travellers, knights, kings and legends. Find out about princesses, castles, battles and medieval magic.

May there be a story that grabs your imagination and beams you back in time. Perhaps you will be asked to kneel and recite the knight's oath. A lucky few will be knighted indeed.

When the story is told and and the young royal requires a challenge to prove their skill and strength - the Lord Stephen will look to a simple but fun modern but medieval games to enchant the crowds and challenge the kids.

There is nowhere where history is more real these school holidays than at the Sunshine Castle.

Create a Crown in the Castle Courtyard

When Creativity is the name of the game – with the Courtyard transforming into a big arts, crafts and games mecca. DIY Crowns and some fun colour ins and some great BIG games will keep the young and the young at heart busy with royal business. Share some quality time with your group or family and have a go at the different activities.

Create a Crown – we provide you with lots of creative materials to decorate and make your own crown. Wear it to be King or Queen of the Castle.

Courtyard Medieval Big Games – many modern games have their origins in medieval times. We have a heap of fun family favourites for you to try, some come in XXL sizing.

(all craft and games activities require adults to supervise and assist children)
